« All women are witches » With this mysterious incantation Léa Peckre announced her new project. Twelve months, twelve episodes, twelve women: a new model for a fashion label, with a new rhythm, freed from the traditional Fashion Week calendar. Every month since January 2018, she has unveiled on Instagram, through a series of visuals and videos, new pieces inspired by a celebrated individual. The 12 looks presented over the course of the months will in their totality form the year's collection. Inspired by cinema, Léa Peckre conceives her collections as scripts. In 2018, she paid homage to witches and their subversive potential. As figures of female emancipation, witches remain as disruptive and fascinating as ever. In 2019, the story continues with a new woman presented every month, together with her entourage, her coven. Icons, clients, figures of inspiration, artists who embody the spirit and the message of the label such as Jess Maybury, Maia Hawad, Alexia Cayre, Kim Peers, Aomi Muyock, Raya Martigny, -and many more- have been spotlit since the beginning of the project. Presented through a magic prism to magnify their power and strength, these diverse women represent the values of women everywhere. Léa Peckre invites all women to be empowered in their own uniqueness by joining the coven ! Bringing true duality between structured cuts (tailored jackets, fitted graphic dresses) and light, comfortable garments (lycra bodysuits, revisited hoodies), she designs a silhouette that creates a timeless aesthetic emphasizing the woman wearing it. A soft celebration of the female form, the LP wardrobe holds several signature elements: mesh second-skins, graphic and sensual necklines, lingerie inspired items, opacity and transparency games. Both strong and vulnerable, from loose to tight, half feminine, half masculine, the collection offers the key to a modern enchantress wardrobe, focusing on the essential, without superfluous iteration. The designer also chooses to rethink the process of her production: every item is created in a limited edition to avoid any overproduction, and is made in Ile-de-France near her studio. Most of fabrics are coming from end of stocks, answering a desire to recycle, and reprocess.
